USDE provides a Gainful Employment Information Page on the IFAP website to ensure that all institutions that participate in the Title IV student assistance programs have easy access to the most current information on the gainful employment regulatory requirements and implementation plans. This page was recently updated and re-named “Gainful Employment Information Page 2014.” Information that was no longer relevant was removed so this page will continue to have the most current information regarding the gainful employment requirements.

The Gainful Employment Information Page 2014 will continue to include links to relevant Federal Register notices, a section for Dear Colleague Letters and Electronic Announcements, a section for Webinars and other Presentations, a listing of Frequently Asked Questions with Answers, and other Resources.

The new page can be accessed either by clicking on the words ”Information Page” in the Gainful Employment box on the right-hand side of the IFAP home page or by going directly to: http://www.ifap.ed.gov/GainfulEmploymentInfo/indexV2.html.

To access the Gainful Employment Dear Colleague Letters and Electronic Announcements go to http://www.ifap.ed.gov/GainfulEmploymentInfo/GEDCLandEAV2.html. Regulations can be found at http://www.ifap.ed.gov/GainfulEmploymentInfo/GEregulationsV2.html

Institutions who wish to access the information on the Archived GE Information Page can do so at: http://www.ifap.ed.gov/GainfulEmploymentInfo/index.html.

In addition, the Department is in the process of regulating all aspects of the gainful employment provisions, including reporting requirements, eligibility metrics, and disclosure requirements. More information on that rulemaking process is available on the Office of Postsecondary Education Web site.

This special information page provides easy access to important gainful employment information. Be sure to take a look at it often to stay on top of the changes to these regulations. Keep in mind that the final rules are anticipated to be published in the Federal Register on November 1, 2014 with an effective date of July 1, 2015. Schools will have until July 31, 2015 to report data on students who were enrolled in their gainful employment programs for the prior six years (08/09; 09/10; 10/11; 11/12; 12/13 & 13/14).
